The Brief

Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, the ultra-popular candy made by the Hershey’s company, which is one of the largest and most well-known chocolate manufacturers in the world.  Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups are known for their delicious combination of chocolate and peanut butter flavors, which many people find to be a perfect match. Given this, we were very excited when we got the opportunity to edit an ad for the world-famous candy. The spot revolved around the introduction of a fictional product known as the “Insta-dropper” which was a candy dispenser specifically designed for Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.

The creative direction for this piece was an “80’s-ish, campy, infomercial”, so we researched old informercials of made-for-TV products and brought those same over-the-top sales tactics and graphic treatments to this spot. I think this ad is a great example of how the production team, art department, and the post-production team can work in tandem to create a memorable and effective ad with plenty of character and charm.
