Sustainable Ocean Alliance

The Sustainable Ocean Alliance operates at the intersection of environmentalism and entrepreneurial innovation, funding eco-startups that develop technologies for ocean preservation. During the UN’s Climate Week, I was approached by the Sustainable Ocean Alliance (SOA) to document their work during the week. The project centered on following SOA founder Daniela Fernandez as she attended climate discussions, panels, and networking events around ocean conservation policy.

The video captures Fernandez as she engages with leaders, investors, and fellow activists during Climate Week. This approach allowed viewers to experience the conversations that shape environmental policy.

Fernandez states that we’re at a pivotal moment in environmental advocacy, a point where multiple industries are primed for disruption. The video builds from individual responsibility “Ask yourself how can you use your own talent”, to the future, culminating in a powerful call to action that frames this generation as humanity’s last hope for meaningful ocean conservation.
